How DOES The H7 HID XENON BULBS Technology work ?
H7 HID Xenon Bulbs do not have a filament. Instead the light is created by an electrical discharge between two electrodes in an air tight tiny quartz capsule filled with xenon gas, mercury and metal halide salts. This improves durability as road vibrations can cause damage to coil lighting technologies. The 6000K HID Xenon Bulbs and 8000K HID Xenon Bulbs light sources also produce a white / blue light that is safer because it is closer to natural daylight. The color temperature is approximately 6000K compared to 3200K for halogen. The increased light output from 35 watt - H7 HID Xenon bulbs is approximately 80% more light than 55 watt halogen H7 bulbs. The H7 HID Xenon bulbs will also draw less power from your vehicles electrical system.
What is Kelvin (K) ?
An HID Xenon Bulbs Color Temperature is measured in Degrees "Kelvin" that indicates the hue of a specific type of light source. Many people believe the misconception that color temperature is a rating of the brightness of the HID Xenon bulb or Hid Xenon kit . This belief is completely false. The reality of the matter is that the higher the color temperature, the less useable light output you will obtain. A perfect example would be a black light. This light has a color temperature of approximately 14,000k and has almost no useable light or lumens output. Higher K kits such as 12000k HID , 15000k HID , etc. have been manufactured for individuals that are more concerned about the actual color output of their HID Xenon Bulbs as opposed to the actual useable light output. However, keep in mind that HID Xenon Bulbs are already 3 to 5 times brighter than standard hallogen bulbs. So even when using 12000K or 15000K HID Xenon Bulbs that do not produce as much light output as 10000K HID , 8000K HID , 6000K HID , etc... They are STILL much brighter than any standard hallogen bulb.
